Vintage French Enamel on Metal Bin Label: CHAMPAGNE
$100 (free mailing in USA) SOLD
Bin labels were used to identify sections or bins in wine cellars. This is a vintage French enamel on metal bin label, dating from the early 1900ís, for CHAMPAGNE. Bin labels for champagne are among the most desirable. It was used for decades and shows some chipping to the enamel (which is usual on enamel labels, especially around the holes where nails were used to affix them). On this one there is some in-painting to some of the damage on some letters. There is also some damage around the edges. Be sure to see the photograph. All of this, however, adds to their character as a wine collectible. It can be used in your wine cellar, displayed on a shelf, attached to a wall or cupboard, or hung on a cord in a kitchen or bar area. The dimensions are: length, 7 ⅛ inches; width, 2 ⅛ inches. A photograph of the back is available and can be e-mailed on request. We will ship this free by Priority Mail within the USA.
