Pair Tall English Brass Columnar Candlesticks c. 1780

Pair of cast square-based brass English candlesticks of classical style dating from the George III era, circa 1780. They make a nice presentation at their height of 10½ inches. The also retain their original bobeches whose gardrooned decoration happily echoes the gardrooning on the bases. These were cast in two parts; we have a photo of the top without the bobeche showing the seam lines at the corners. There is some wear to the decoration from years of polishing and a very minor repair to the corner of one bobeche. The bases show the original peening and no damage.
For reference, see the similar model listed as illustration D on page 184 of The Brass Book by Peter, Nancy and Herbert Schiffer., though that one has a concave base rather than the gadrooned one we see here.
