Important Catalog: Norie Collection of Tea Caddy Spoons

Important auction catalog for Part I of the sale of the caddy spoon collection of John Norie at Woolley & Wallis in Salisbury, England, on 20 April 2004. There were 253 lots in Part I, all illustrated in color. These included a considerable portion of the most important items in the collection. A sheet with prices realized is included. We are also offering the complete set of the Norie catalogs from Parts I and II of the sale in a listing a few items below this one. The reason we are selling only Part I separately is that we have a few extras of this one. John Norie was probably the best known collector of caddy spoons. His book, “Caddy Spoons, An Illustrated Guide,” is the standard reference on the subject and is virtually unobtainable. The least expensive copy on the Web last time I looked was priced at $980. This is an extraordinarily useful reference for anyone interested in caddy spoons. We are also selling a limited number of sets of the catalogs for both parts of the auction.
