Funny French satirical transfer plate making fun of the sport of running (La Course a Pied), an amusing collectible and great gift for the enthusiast of the sport. The fat runner is saying, “-Mon docteur m’ordonne le sport pour magrir,” while the skinny one says, “-Le mien me l’a conseille pour engraisser.” Translated, the fat runner is saying, “ My doctor prescribes the sport for me to lose weight,” while the skinny runner says, “Mine advises it for me to gain.” Dating from about 1925, this plate is 7 3/4 inches in diameter and is marked on the back with the stamp for St. Amand Etablisements Ceramiques. Condition is excellent.
