High Jumping Satirized on Amusing 1920's French Plate

Funny French satirical transfer plate making fun of the sport of jumping, a very amusing collectible and great gift for the enthusiast of the sport. A woman is watching the jumper and comments (translated), “I do not understand the efforts to go over. It would seem so simple to pass under the bar.” Dating from about 1925, this plate is 7 3/4 inches in diameter and is marked on the back with the stamp for St. Amand Grands Etablisements Ceramiques. The transfer impression is very good. Condition is excellent.
