Anathema, Litanies of Negation, Eugene O'Neill Foreword

Anathema, Litanies of Negation by Benjamin DeCasseres, was published in in 1928 by the legendary Gotham Book Mart. It was a limited edition of 1,250 autographed copies of which this is number 488. There is a foreword by Eugene O'Neill, possibly America's greatest playwright, the winner of three Pulitzer Prizes for drama and the Nobel Prize for literature. The book has a glassine cover and a black slipcase. The glassine cover here is chipped at the top and bottom and there is a piece missing at the center of the spine, which can be seen in the second photograph. One short edge of the slipcase is separated, but could be easily repaired.
