Unusually fine condition copy of Baedeker's guide to Berlin and its Environs, 4th edition, 1910 (Hinrichsen E63). The early Berlin Baedekers are sought after because they give detailed information on Berlin before the World Wars, particularly World War II during which the city sustained considerable damage. Most of these guides are very worn, since they were carried around by tourists and often are filled with notes. The foldouts all appear to be in excellent condition. This book is crisp and tight and actually appears unused, even retaining the original red and green place-holding ribbons bound in (the end of the green ribbon has oxidized to light brown and the end of the red ribbon is missing). The original marbled edges are still in good condition.
