These original old 1939 New York World's Fair LICENSED POSTER STAMPS are a colorful souvenir of the great art deco fair. There are 54 stamps...still in the original envelope with TRYLON and PERISPHERE on the front. The original envelope/folder measures 8 by 5 1/2 inches but opened up, the poster stamp sheet measures 15 by 14 1/2 inches. Back in the 1930's when smoking was 'sophisticated', this was no doubt intended to be a cigarette box. 70 years later, it's just a fabulous art deco box for anything you want to keep in it. It's made of heavy tin that's lithographed to look like burl wood. The box is lined in more tin. This tin isn't the cheap flimsy kind but well-made with reinforced rounded edges.
