Here's a great old Czech necklace, made of black jet beads with tiny metal spacers. These are strung together in a 'daisy chain' effect. This necklace is from the 1930s (maybe older) and because of that, I have to warn that the old thread might be fragile. Some of the tiny metal beads are also age-tarnished and I'm not sure how you'd clean them. With that said, this is a fabulous example of old Czech jewelry...the clasp is marked CZECHOSLOVAKIA. This old 1930's pin is marked MADE IN AUSTRIA. It's really a knockout...made with unfoiled olive green crystals and black rhinestones...all prong set. In the center, is a large facet-cut rhinestone that appears to be black but when you hold it to the light you can see it's actually amethyst glass. This big vintage Juiliana style brooch really piles it on!...there are 5 tiers of prong-set square stones set in a gold-tone diamond shape. Glass stone colors are pink, white, blue, green...topped off with a large pink rhinestone. Pin measures 3 inches across, tip to tip. If you like unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry, you might like this handmade 1960's jeweler's take on seashells. I'm no expert on mollusks but this is a great brass necklace of links that look like clamshells. There's lots of detail and texture. Necklace measures 19 inches long by 1 7/8 wide at center. The dark spot on left side is just bad lighting...not on the necklace. Unmarked, excellent condition.
