NOT A REPRO...this original 1940 cast iron donkey bottle opener was sold during the political campaign between Franklin Roosevelt and Wendell Willkie. (There were Democratic donkeys and Republican elephants). Never used, this came out of an old Times Square souvenir store whose contents we bought 40 years ago. Donkey has a couple of nicks to the paint...from years of rubbing against all those Republican elephants in the drawer they were stored in. Measures 3 inches. This lot of 3 little brass folding frames are from the late 1940s. They feature movie star photos inside, including... Ann Sheridan, Cornell Wilde, Hedy Lamarr, Cary Grant, Burt Lancaster and Ida Lupino. Closed, these measure 1 1/2 inches each way. The brass rings pop out so you can replace the star photos with the 'stars' in your personal life. These frames are old warehouse stock. Minor age tarnish but overall in great unused condition. They make great gifts.

I'm not sure if you'd call these machine age, space age or Eames era candle holders but they're vintage and have a great look. Made of aluminum, these are hefty and well designed. No markings but the clean, simple lines have the look of Scandinavian makers. The candlesticks measure 3 1/4 inches high by 3 3/4 inches across the base. Just a tiny bit of pink wax at the inside bottom says they were used but overall, condition is excellent.
