This magnificent sterling silver and abalone necklace was hand wrought in Taxco Mexico before 1948, by the coveted silversmith BETO. The necklace has a classic design that was popular with the Taxco artisans of the era. The scrolled links are alternated with natural iridescent abalone shell cabochons that are bezel set in silver. Here's a great vintage handwrought salt and pepper set on its original tray. Made of 925 sterling silver. Each piece is marked with the silversmith's hallmark...ADL - Hecho En Mexico - 925 with the Eagle 1. The tray measures 5 1/4 by 3 1/4 inches. Each shaker measures 1 5/8 inches across by 1 3/4 inches high. Excellent handwrought repousse work around each shaker and at scalloped edge of tray.
