Years ago, the Valmor Company, who made beauty (and other) products for African-American consumers, closed up and a small quantity of the product labels from the 1930s-40s were found in the warehouse. Here's a lot of 20 original labels...all with great graphics and bright vibrant colors...

This is an incredible antique ethnic necklace...handmade of silver and foil-backed glass with old coins dangling down. The necklace is choker style with the beads and pieces sewn onto a leather strap that's backed with cloth. An antique Birmingham (England) Victorian brass button is the closure. The necklace has some damage to one of the glass pieces at top (on the right)...this can be repaired though some might like to leave this as it is...

These are wonderful old composition dolls, circa 1930s. The pair are dressed in what looks like ethnic Mexican style clothes. He's wearing a big straw sombrero with native suit (slightly faded). She's wearing a sparkled skirt. Their faces are hand-painted as are the shoes/socks. The dolls are jointed at shoulders and hips. They measure 8 inches high. A few minor nicks to paint/shoe tips but overall, these are in excellent vintage condition. Very bright, colorful and old.

It's big!...2 7/8 by 3 1/2 inches. This vintage signed VENDOME pin is Asian-inspired and very impressive. The goldtone openwork frame holds a carved-through piece of faux jade that's actually genuine Bakelite. The pin on the back was either added, repaired or manufactured with silver solder but in any case, the pin is secure with a safety-catch closure...

This vintage Ethnic pendant of an Eskimo face is carved out of a natural material. The gold bale is marked 14K. The pendant measures 7/8 by 1 7/8 inches. It's in excellent condition and a very fine carving.

This lucky shamrock 4-leaf clover is genuine Native American. The white onyx and turquoise stones are set in sterling silver. Ring size is 6.5. There's an artist's mark inside. The shamrock measures 7/8 inch across. Ring is unpolished...in excellent condition.

Here's a great original vintage cardboard advertising sign for FAIRBANKS GOLD DUST WASHING POWDER - LEVER BROTHERS COMPANY. This is circa 1940s when Levers was still selling this product to Latin American countries. Sign measures 7 1/2 by 10 1/2 inches and is made of sturdy cardboard that has 2 punch holes near the top where a string was put for hanging. Shows the classic GOLD DUST black twins logo. Very slight wear to corners. Sign was never used and is in excellent condition.

These 3 Black Americana hair product tins are circa 1940...all unused and empty. The small sample tin is for SWEET GEORGIA BROWN HAIR DRESSING POMADE and measures 1 1/8 inches across. Colorful red, yellow and black tins for LUCKY BROWN include Pressing Oil...featuring a smiling black woman with half her hair curly and the other half straight. Measures 2 3/4 inches across top by 1 inch high...

Here's an old original 1936...TIP TOP ENTERTAINMENT AND MINSTREL ALBUM...a 66-page magazine that contains words and music to some great old ditties. Included are...DUSKY STEVEDORE, DIXIE JAMBOREE and I AIN'T AFRAID OF NUTHIN' DAT'S ALIVE. There are 30 songs in all and in addition, lots of Minstrel show jokes, stories, gags and dialogues like 'DARKY-OLOGY'...a comedy dialogue between Sambo and Rufus, Ham and Eggs in jail, etc. Published by Wehman Bros. Great illustrated covers of blacks/minstrels...

This lot of original vintage 1940s-1950s postcards feature African-Americans back in the days when they were called blacks, Negroes and 'colored folks'. These are all linen-finish postcards that have never been used. One card is captioned 'Uncle Tom...an old-fashioned Southern Negro'. Another is 'Old Black Joe'. One card is a comic illustration showing Mammy doing the wash. The other two cards show blacks in the cotton fields. All the postcards are in unused, excellent condition.

This circa 1980 goldtone Star of David pendant was made in support of Russian Jews who refused to give up their religion in the USSR under Communism. The large star says...LET MY PEOPLE GO and shows the Star of David chained by the hammer and cycle emblem of the USSR. On the back is the name LEV YAGMAN - USSR PRISONER OF CONSCIENCE...one of the prisoners. Star measures 2 by 2 1/2 inches and hangs from a chain that's 24 inches around...

NOT a reproduction...here's a colorful lithographed ORIGINAL old fruit crate label for BLACK JOE JUICE GRAPES - 13 by 4 inches. These were intended to go on the sides of fruit crates. This was never used and is in near-mint condition...a great one to frame up.
