This is a beautiful sterling silver and 18k yellow gold ring by Lagos. It has a large yellow tourmaline stone in the center with 18K yellow gold beads bordering the dome. This great old Mah Jong game set is from the 1940s. It's complete with...152 Bakelite tiles, 5 maroon marbled Bakelite racks, 1 pair of dice, and a Bakelite bettor wheel...all in a sturdy faux gator leatherette carrying case. Among the 152 tiles are some with decorative flowers or birds. A few tiles are appliqued to indicate the blanks or Jokers. The green leatherette case has some expected age scuffs/wear/tear. Is there anything more luscious than a stack of vintage, genuine Bakelite bracelets? Not to this girl (ok...except maybe for an equally high stack of chocolate.) These colorful bangles are all old, original GENUINE (tested) Bakelite. Two are carved and two have marbled swirls throughout. As a grouping, these measure 1 1/2 inches wide. It's a bit of a mystery as we could find no other piece like this but after consulting with our expert in exotic tribal jewelry, we've concluded this is either early Indian, Bedouin or Middle Eastern. We do know that this is a prayer amulet in the shape of a bar. It's made of genuine pre-ban ivory and capped with repousse silver that tests for sterling grade.
