Years ago, when we had an antique shop in NYC, one of our specialties was 1939-40 New York World's Fair memorabilia. Here's one Fair collectible that's pretty rare...an advertising flip book that was a premium from the makers of Bromo Seltzer. The little booklet has a two-way story...flip the 1939 NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR side and you'll see an agile hula girl doing her dance. Flip from the other side and you'll get a moving 'commercial' for Bromo...

NOT A REPRO...this original 1940 cast iron donkey bottle opener was sold during the political campaign between Franklin Roosevelt and Wendell Willkie. (There were Democratic donkeys and Republican elephants). Never used, this came out of an old Times Square souvenir store whose contents we bought 40 years ago. Donkey has a couple of nicks to the paint...from years of rubbing against all those Republican elephants in the drawer they were stored in. Measures 3 inches...

This old original pin is circa 1920s. It was made to promote the ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL PREPAREDNESS FUND and shows an illustration of an ambulence with a cross on it. Pin measures 3/4 inch across. Just a tiny bit of age tarnish on the tin back but overall pin is in excellent condition.

These vintage sterling silver cufflinks are marked 925. Each center has 2 faux diamonds. These measure 5/8 inch across. The pair is in excellent condition.

Many years ago, we bought 3 old circa 1920's decals of the Coney Island Steeplechase funny face that was used all over George C. Tilyou's amusement park from the late 1800's till the park closed circa 1960. The decals were bigger than most decals...8 1/2 by 11 inches. We sold two of them but kept the last one all these years because we knew we'd never see another like it. We recently made a print from the original...same size...same colors...on card stock paper...

This old original enamel lapel pin says...OFFICIAL - YONKERS RACEWAY. It came from the estate of a horse racing track official. Back is numbered 26. It measures 3/4 inch each way and has a screw-on back. Slight surface wear but overall in excellent condition.

They look like callalily flowers and they're handwrought in sterling silver. This vintage pin has an openwork design that's just perfect for a business suit lapel or an evening gown. Pin measures 2 1/8 by 2 1/4 inches. Back has a secure rollover clasp. Back is marked STERLING. Pin is in excellent condition.

Here's a gorgeous cubic zirconia bracelet by Suzanne Somers. It's a wide hinge bracelet in silvertone with 5 wavy rows of pave set clear CZs on the top side. Bracelet measures 1 1/8 inch wide. It has a secure slide-in clasp. This bracelet originally sold on the Home Shopping Network for much more and is now retired. It comes with original box and paperwork. It's in excellent unworn condition and a true knockout.

Here's a rare, original 1930s SHIRLEY TEMPLE ring with a real black and white photo of curly Shirley's face set into the small brass oval which measures 1/2 inch high by 3/8 inch across. Image is nice and sharp, showing what a cutie she was at the height of her career. Ring opening is 1/2 inch in diameter...just right for someone Shirley-size. This ring is old warehouse stock which we bought many years ago. Excellent condition. Guaranteed OLD AND ORIGINAL!

Her blue skirt is swinging, her sleeves are flying but her hat stays firmly in place. This vintage Murano art glass dancing girl figurine is a graceful vision in blue hand-blown glass. The dress is decorated with white stripes and gold flecks in the glass. She measures about 9 inches across the dress by 11 1/2 inches high and comes attached to her glass stand...it's all one piece of glass. She's in perfect condition...no chips, cracks or repairs. Her dance form is perfect.

This vintage jewelry set is made of burnished copper and it has a warm glowing patina. Both the pin and the matching earrings have layered leaves...alternating smooth and textured. The pin also doubles as a pendant...the big loop makes it easy to hang from a chain or cord. The pin measures 2 by 2 1/8 inches. The clipback earrings are 1 by 1 1/4 inches. There's a secure rollover clasp. The set is unsigned though it has the high-quality look of the top coppersmiths of the past...

This modernist era sterling silver ring almost looks like an abstract design till you look closely and see the details of the grand King Cobra snake. The artisan handmade ring serpentines around the finger. Size is 8. The top measures 1 1/8 inches wide. Ring has been left with its original aged tarnished patina as some people prefer but this can be polished to a bright shine. There seems to be a hallmark inside the band but because of the shape and tarnish, it's hard to make it out...
