Vintage c1940 Big Carved Wood Duck - Goose Pin

This vintage circa 1940 pin is carved out of wood and hand-painted. It's a big flying bird...a goose, duck or mallard. This pin comes out of the Bakelite era when plastics and wood were used to make whimsical novelty pins such as this one. The pin measures 3 3/8 inches across by 3 7/8 inches high. Pin has its original 2-piece safety-catch closure on the back and is in excellent condition with paint intact and not a ruffled feather. (Oops..there was a bit of paper caught on the left wing which was removed AFTER the photo was taken.)
