Old c1940s Penny Vending Scale Movie Star Weight Cards

Once upon a time, you'd get on a penny scale to weigh yourself and the bad news that you'd gained a few pounds wouldn't hurt so much because at least it was printed on the back of a movie star card. Here's a set of those cards, issued by Peerless Weighing & Vending Machine Corp. The cards are circa late 1940s...they also give you some lucky numbers and a fortune...probably to soften the blow of your weight gain. The 10 cards feature these famous (and not-so-famous) stars...Perry Como, Lisa Kirk, Dick Powell, Faye Emerson, Eva Gabor, Irene Dunne, Dinah Shore, George Montgomery, Peggy Wood and Tony Martin. Cards measure 1 1/8 by 2 1/8 inches and are all in un-vended, near-mint condition.
