Orig. WW II WELCOME BACK Tin Sign w/ Ruptured Duck Exc

As the soldiers came home from WW II, this is the sign that greeted them. It was put up in stores and other places where veterans might read the message that says... WELCOME BACK...WEARER OF THIS BADGE OF HONOR. YOU HAVE SERVED YOUR COUNTRY WELL. WE THANK YOU This original 1940s sign is made of tin with a cardboard easel back. It can also be hung on a wall. Measures 16 3/4 by 6 3/8 inches. A gold 'ruptured duck'...nickname for an honorable discharge medal...sits against the navy blue background. Letters and trim are in gold. Overall, a great old sign in unused, excellent condition...and the sentiment still works today.
