Many hours of hand-work went into this cross-stitch quilt! Aqua cross-stitches in two different patterns cover the white squares on the top with a border around and coordinating patterns on the sides. All four edges are finished in 'prairie points', with 4" fringe on three sides (no fringe on head-end). Back is plain white. It is hand-quilted and in very good condition. Hand-tied with wool yarn, this natural wool-batting comforter is covered with multi-colored scrap fabric triangles on the top and blue plaid flannel on the back. It measures 88" x 70 1/2" and is pictured on a full-size bed. The fabric is in good condition with a few spots and slight staining on edge, but overall it is in very good condition for a textile of this age. It has NOT been laundered. Suggested cleaning by experienced antique textile cleaner, if desired.

You know the glass blocks that are used in construction? This is just like those except it has an oval opening in the top. Made from heavy optical glass, it measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 3 3/4". The inside ribs on front and back are horizontal and the outside ribs are vertical giving it a checkerboard appearance. Could be used as a vase, container or fish bowl. White (milk) glass lamp shades are decorated with red and gold hand painted roses and green leaves. Top of shade is ruffled. Overall measurements: 5 3/4" high and 7 3/4 across, (7" fitter). One picture shows shade sitting on the chimney of an oil lamp (without fitter or tripod) to give an idea of how it looks.
