Many hours of hand-work went into this cross-stitch quilt! Aqua cross-stitches in two different patterns cover the white squares on the top with a border around and coordinating patterns on the sides. All four edges are finished in 'prairie points', with 4" fringe on three sides (no fringe on head-end). Back is plain white. It is hand-quilted and in very good condition. White (milk) glass lamp shades are decorated with red and gold hand painted roses and green leaves. Top of shade is ruffled. Overall measurements: 5 3/4" high and 7 3/4 across, (7" fitter). One picture shows shade sitting on the chimney of an oil lamp (without fitter or tripod) to give an idea of how it looks.
Shades are in very good condition. Bottom edge is rough where is was cut from mold.

Swirls of dark brown, white and clear glass were blown to form a footed cornucopia with a square-shaped mouth.
It measures 10 1/4" long x 9" wide x 4 3/4" high.

Green & Amber Miniature Mugs
Mugs are 2 3/8 inches high, 1 3/4 inches in diameter and are made to resemble wooden barrels. Could be used as shot glasses or toothpick holders.
In very good condition with no cracks or chips. Green mug is rough around bottom rim at mold seam and appears to have tiny fleabites discernible by touch and use of magnifying glass.

Gray mother of pearl buttons are 5/16" in diameter and are set on gold-colored metal. Back rods are 7/8" long and spring-loaded.

You know the glass blocks that are used in construction? This is just like those except it has an oval opening in the top. Made from heavy optical glass, it measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 3 3/4". The inside ribs on front and back are horizontal and the outside ribs are vertical giving it a checkerboard appearance. Could be used as a vase, container or fish bowl. In very good condition with one very tiny fleabite on one edge. There is some roughness from the mold edges.

Large sugar bowl with lid measures 4 1/2" in diameter and 3 1/2' high. It has pine branches with pine cones handpainted in green, brown and gold. Bottom reads; 'Fukagawa, Arita,Handpainted, Made in Japan, Pattern no. 904.' In perfect condition.

Flower Fables is one of the lesser known books of Louisa May Alcott. This one is 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 3/4" in green cloth binding with a color picture applied to front and published by H. M. Caldwell Co. Binding is darkened on spine and cover with back brighter. Pages are intact, but first 50 pages are getting loose and four of the five binding threads are loose at front cover - see photo. Pages have no marks or tears but are yellowed with age. These old heavy glass mixing were made by the Federal Glass Company. The clear one is 7" in diameter with quite a bit of fine scratching, inside and out, from much use. It also has a chip on one of the feet - see photo. The amber bowl is few scratches.
