Vintage Meerschaum pipe.
Actual age unknown but one can see the soft brown coloring changes known to happen as these pipes age !
Never used for smoking--clean inside and out.
This MERMAID version is NOT of todays design. This vintage model features hand placements to the hips and thigh areas.
Also the tail of this mermaid continues in design until the flippers ( feet) are almost underneath the pipe itself.

Nicely carved Japanese man holding a very large fish probably a Carp.
(White spots appearing in photo are flashback not physically on this piece )
This statue is made of wood....and is wonderfully carved by hand...though base may be machine cut.
I am not sure of the exact wood used--but it is to a type of hard wood...and carved out of one solid piece .
In the Asian world --this man and his fish have a special meaning to life...once told to me ---but now forgotten.
