The Williamsburg ART OF COOKERY
$9.00
Circa 1966 , Williamsburg ART OF COOKERY or, Acomplifb'd Gentlewoman's COMPANION.
This smallish volume was published in 1966 --fifteenth printing since 1938....but the real first book of recipes was original to 1742 !!
The recipes are written in Olde' English Style...writing and has the f's in place of the s's and other of those old well known tranferal of -old and modern day letters in english !
About 7 inches long and 4 1/4 inches across.
It has so many recipes that a cook especially from America or perhaps England and maybe even other countries as well-- would just LOVE to own. I know I love to go through some old cookbooks to view how things were done back in the day.
This book however was perhaps not as interesting to its former owner. I would say it is not read at all to barely read..as its present condition would seem.
It does have a bit of bending to itself from being in bookcases.
It includes 500 recipes and a section on herbs of the day.
