WOOD WALL POCKET /ASIAN INSPIRED / SYROCOWOOD
$75.00
Old but true age unknown--at least 50 years old but most likely 10 or more older,
These two pockets are made by an American Company SYROCOWOOD which was located in New Jersey!
I believe the wood to be walnut....but it almost appears ebonized.I am sure thats because of the age.
I believe this piece may have been made to display small tea cups and saucers...but I also know it held matches for the stoves.
This piece has a very heavy Asian influence with a pagoda top and back cut out designs in the wood.
The very bottom design offers more cut out designs and a fob type end piece on the end.
Lotus blossom or fleur-de-lis on the top.
Slots on ledge for keeping the saucers in place.
Piece is aprox. 13 inches long
6 inches wide
5 inches deep
