Vintage wood box made in Switzerland, Measures 6 1/4 x 4 7/8, and is 1 7/8" tall at the top of the curved lid.IT may be a cigar box, the wood has a nice smell. Intricate inlay pattern. There is a small hole in the bottom, and a few slight veneer chips on the corners. Some gentle surface wear shows because of the age. Box lid has original hinges and fits snug and would be airtight except for that small hole I mentioned.

Pretty octagonal porcelain box with a hinged lid was manufactured by Aynsley in England, and the pattern name is "Wild Tudor." The underside of this box bears the manufacturer's backstamp. This pattern features flowers and floral sprays on a white background with gold trim. This box is approximately three inches in height and approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter.It is in excellent condition with no chips, scratches, or other damage visible to the unaided eye. A Japanese Porcelain Covered Dish with a Chokin Design of swimming swans and a blossoming tree, on the Lid that is 3 3/4 inches in diameter by 1 7/8 inches high to the top of the lid. The mark on the bottom of the Dish is, "The Art of Chokin” is described, “Metal engravings from Japan are created by the ancient art of Chokin. Gilded with gold and silver, the engravings were originally created to decorate the armament of the SAMURAI warriors”...
