Vintage ceramic dog reading book salt pepper shakers

Adorable pair of vintage novelty salt and pepper shakers from Japan. They have the red Japan mark. This little puppy sits on and peeks over the book he has been reading. Made of hand painted porcelain with gold trim on the book. Measures 3 1/2" tall and have no damages or repairs. One cork is missing. This is quite a rare little set for your collection.
