Vintage souvenir wood jungle native nutcracker
|| for item safn-2312
He appears to be a Native, and is made of wood with tufts of yarn for hair. These nutcracker heads were very popular in the 1950s. You hold a nut in the mouth and twist the notched wooden peg that comes through the bottom until it squeezes the nut so tight that shells crack. He measures 5" tall and is in excellent condition. All wood with hand painted details. Often times glorifying politically incorrect characters, this breed of nutcrackers usually consisted of carvings of personality types with notoriously big mouths like the jungle native you see here.
