Old Dresden sugar bowl from S & G Gumps San Francisco

This beautiful sugar bowl is stamped on the bottom Dresden Germany S&G Gumps San Francisco. Wreaths of pink roses and elaborate gold and frilly decorations. No chips, cracks, or staining. Measures 4 1/4" tall to the top of the handle on the lid. THe borothers being of German descent would have access to wonerful porcelain pieces from their homeland. S & G Gump was founded in 1861 by Solomon Gump and his brother, Gustav. The fire following the 1906 Earthquake destroyed the store and all of the merchandise, but thanks to Dodie Valencia, A.L. received $17,000 for one of his paintings, which allowed funding for the rebuilding and restocking of the store.
