$40.00 $40.00

Antique 1920s Porcelain Sch & Co CZECH Mug -Gilded Scene from the Czech composer Bedrich Smetana’s 1870 comic opera “The Bartered Bride. 3 7/8" high x 3 1/8" diam. Very pretty mug, showing a Transfer Print of A man talking to the bartered bride. Gorgeous piece. Gilt rim and gold embellishment, reads "Viz, zde se podepsal, tri sta mu vyplatime a take se ho sprostime, Translated; "See, here he signed it, he will pay three hundred sprostime, take him".", so says the internet. With gold accents, floral border and trim and small applied porcelain dots accenting the mug. There is a banner, that translates: Our Faithful everlasting Love. It is from the Opera or Play The Bartered Bride. Bottom is stamped: Cecho-SLOV. Sch & Co. I believe these were made circa 1920s. A really nice ethnic Czech piece of porcelain. I have 3 others from the same opera, that match.See my listing for the others I have Photos do not show well because of the reflection off the shiny gold. The gold in actuality is brilliant and not worn. Mugs are perfect!
