Lovely large oil on linen painting by famous California artist, Florence Sackett. Florence Sackett is an American artist born in 1927 in Chewalah Washington. She is a self taught artist excelling in Marine, seascapes, and landscape art.
Florence Sackett grew up in Washington where she was born in 1927. At one time she worked in a sign shop in Spokane doing silk screening.
She lived and traveled widely in the West including Texas, California and Oregon. In the late 1960s while living in California, she took a correspondence course from the Kachina School of Art in Phoenix, but is primarily self-taught. In 1992 she moved to a small town in western Arizona.
Florence Sackett has received commissions from the Grand Canyon National Park and her work has been published in "Sunset" magazine. Many of her western landscapes have been reproduced as greeting cards. She has been cited in An Encyclopedia of Women Artists of the American West.
This wonderful painting is titled "Redwoods Road", and signed in lower right, not dated but pre 1975. Original framed and ready to hang and enjoy. Beautiful condition! Measures 18" by 36". Very nice. Any white spots are due to camera glare. Must be professionally packaged for shipping.
