Vintage Bonzo dog salt and pepper shakers, w/ gold

This pair of shakers are unique as they have the gold trim on the paws and feet. Starting in the 1910's, George Studdy created a cartoon of a mischievous little pup. By 1922 he was named Bonzo and a whole devoted base of readers became collectors of this cute little guy. This is a shaker set from Japan that was probably made in the 1930's. Each pup is 3" high and is marked Made in Japan on the base.There are no chips, cracks, fleabites or repairs. Some of the gold has some wear. Both corks are inside each shaker.
