Lithograph of Emmett Kelly by Barry Leighton Jones. The litho itself measures 8" x 6" and depicts Emmett Kelly applying makeup to a Mime. Titled "A helping hand". The litho is hand signed and numbered 4055/5000 by the artist. Below the litho is a gold colored seal stating The Original Circus Collection and Emmett Kelly. The litho is in a gold gilt wood frame that measures approx. 14" x 17 1/2". The frame is in excellent condition. Barry Leighton Jones was born in London, England in 1932. He began his artistic career at the age of five by winning a major art competition, and later was tutored by the acclaimed English artist and illustrator John Minton. In 1985, he was chosen to create a series of images based on the life and work of the famous American clown Emmett Kelly. 30 images were used and were produced as limited edition prints and figurines, all becoming best sellers and eagerly sought after by collectors all over the U.S.A. The lithograph is in perfect condition, and still sealed inside the frame, with no rips, holes or discoloration the colors are very vibrant . I have two others to this collection. This has the original certificate of authenticity on the back also.
