Cape Lookout, N.C collectible lighthouse figurine

Resin composite figure of the Cape Lookout N.C. lighthouse established in 1859. Mounted on a nice wood base with brass plaque. Wonderful condition. Located at the south end of Core Banks in an area known as the “Horrible Headlands”, Cape Lookout was a brick tower encased with a wooden exterior painted with red and white horizontal stripes. Due to mist and fog, the beacon was difficult to see. A new light was completed in 1859 and received its black and white checkered pattern so that it wouldn’t be confused with other lights in the area. Today the keeper’s quarters serve as a museum.
