Robert Mayokok vintage ashtray, Native Eskimo art
Unusual hand painted porcelain souvenir ashtray with a signature of Robert Mayokok. Robert Mayokok was a native Eskimo artist who was known for his scenes of life in the Arctic Circle. A line ofsouvenir items was made in the 1950s. It appears to be a circle of eskimos holding a trampoline skin with someone jumping. Someone else interpreted it as Jesus ascending from the heavens. You be the judge, Measures 6" diameter, with gold trim. No chips or damages. Gold decoration is bright and crisp No makers mark. I have one of his vases listed also.
