| A Chinese carved cinnabar saucer dish. A chrysanthemum flower head adorns the center of the dark vermillion colored dish and is surrounded by a leaf lappet border. The carved decoration revealing a cross section of dozens of built up layers of cinnabar lacquer. 19th century or earlier. Good condition. 5 15/16 inches (15.08 cm) diameter. Weighs 5.5 to 5.6 ounces (more than 1/3 of a pound) or about 158 grams - pretty weighty for the small diameter. | |||||||||
