Here is a cute sterling demitasse spoon by W. Faber & Sons of Philadelphia. The spoon is 4 3/8 inches long and weighs 8 grams. The handle front is decorated with beautiful bright-cut engraving. The piece is monogrammed "G" on the handle front. The spoon is marked "STERLING" and "W. FABER & SONS".

The handle is double die-struck in a simple waisted pattern as shown. The knife has a worn monogram on one side of the handle. The spoons measure about 8 3/4 inches long and together weigh 286 grams, or a bit over 9 troy ounces. The handles have chamfered edges and downturned pointed coffin ends. The spoons have an even patina and are monogrammed "JSB" in script capitals on the fronts of the handles. Up for bid is a very rare hollow handle coin silver roast carving set in what is often identified as the LOUIS XIV pattern by John Polhamus. It was actually patented by John C. Moore, and was produced by other makers. The knife is 13 1/8" long and the fork is 11 1/8". The handles are 5 1/4" long and are identical to LOUIS XIV, save for the repeated section near the joints, likely required to fit the blades securely.
