Here is a nice coin silver tablespoon by Hugh Gelston of Baltimore, Maryland, working ca. 1821 to 1833. The spoon is 8 1/2 inches long and weighs 54 grams. The spoon has squared shoulders, a swaged arch drop and a downturned rounded fiddle handle. The spoon is monogrammed "H" in script on the handle front as shown. The spoon is marked with a leaf stamp and [HU.GELSTON] in a rectangle as shown. The leaf mark is unusual for Baltimore.
Condition on the spoon is fairly good. There is minor tip wear and a shallow bowl crease, and the handle tip is slightly bent. Regardless, a nice piece of Baltimore silver!
