For sale is an unusual Atlantic City, New Jersey souvenir spoon by George W. Shiebler. The spoon measures 4 5/8 inches long and weighs 15 grams. The bowl has a light gold wash and a die-struck view of the Absecon lighthouse. The handle is shaped like waves, with "ATLANTIC CITY" in wavy letters on the handle front. The spoon is not monogrammed, but there is slight chance that one was removed from the back. It is marked "STERLING" over the Shiebler trademark, with the retailer's stamp "VICTOR FREISINGER" as shown.
Condition on the spoon is fairly good. The gold wash is worn, and there is an odd patch on the handle back that may be a monogram removal. Regardless, a nice souvenir spoon from Shiebler, one I have not seen before!
