For sale is a fine Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor souvenir spoon by Gorham. The spoon measures 5 9/16" long and weighs 26 grams. The bowl depicts the "BIRTHPLACE / WILLISTON CHURCH / FEB 2nd 1881 / PORTLAND, ME.". The handle is topped with a "CE" logo and has "YPSCE" down the stem. The spoon is marked "PAT. 1892" over the Gorham trademark and "STERLING", as shown. The spoon has not been monogrammed. The society had a major convention in New York City in 1892; these may have been produced for the convention.
Condition on the spoon is good. There are just the signs of use and a couple of black spots in the bowl. An unusual souvenir spoon!
