The rich, deep red color of this bowl is gorgeous!
The edges are scalloped.
In each scallop is a carving. The torch of liberty alternates with the Eagle from the Great Seal, the eagle facing the wheat sheaf. Above the eagle's head are 3 stars, with "1887". I tried to photograph this, but don't think the photo does it justice.
There are no other markings that would indicate who made it or when.
This was my mother's; she died in 2000. I have no idea how long she may have had it before that, or where she got it from.
