This is a McCoy Clown Cookie Jar, dating to the late 40's. Jar is in VERY good condition for being 60 years old! The paint is virtually mint. One spot on the green tassel is missing, but that seems to be a manufacturing flaw, not worn off. There are 2 chips, both invisible during normal display. One is on the lip of the lid where it fits inside the body of the jar. The other is on the bottom. (Photos of this available upon request) There is also crazing under the glaze in many places.
I recently saw this same jar, with almost no paint left on it, sell for over $100.00!
About 6-1/2" dia x 10" high.
Weighs about 3 lb 14 oz plus all boxing and packaging.
