Four 9" restaurant-grade "Vitrified China"* dinner plates from the early 1940's.
They were made by Sterling China of East Liverpool, Ohio in the "Desert Tan" pattern.
My mother bought these (used) back in the mid-1940's. They are quite heavy (well over 1 pound each).
*"vitrified china" is a type of heavy china used commercially in restaurants, railroads, cruise ships, and by the military
Excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. Colors nice & bright, no visible fading. There are some faint utensil marks from way back when they were newer, before my mom bought them and never used them
