This extraordinary majolica drinking cup with a lid is a one of a kind vintage Gzhel “Artist Proof”. Many of these pieces are now in museums around the world as the Gzhel Company is no longer creating pieces such as this. Signed by the designer and the artist/painter, A. Petrov V.A. & R. This wonderful little jug was made in Israel during the 1930's. It was made by hand with a beautiful reposse floral motif around the circumference. Brass handle has a leaf design and the spout is very narrow and delicate. There is a small piece at the top of the handle that might have had a string or hook. Bottom is not flat but will stand on it's own in a certain position.
