This wonderful Russian redware plate has ten (10) hand-painted women in costumes of blue, white, yellow and umber. They're holding hands and appear to be dancing on a black glazed background. Primitive style and signed. One tiny nick on very edge of the white trimmed rim from a plate hanger (as shown on Photo #5).
Circa: Mid 20th C. Condition: VG-Excellent. Size: 9-1/4" Diameter x 1-5/8" H

"Tom,Tom the Piper"s Son", is the fifth plate in the series of six Limited Edition, "Once Upon a Rhyme Plates" designed for Heinrich, West Germany, Villeroy & Boch by Artist, Renee Faure.
