This depiction of the Russian Fairy Tale, "Ivan Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf was originally pained by Ivan Bilibin in 1901. This contemporary rendition by, L. Golubeva shows the young Tsar holding the Tsarevna in his arms and making their escape on a white steed. The painting is done on a textured wood board, painted in shades of brown, blue, orange and white, then heavily lacquered to preserve the wonder painting.
