Handmade and painted wooden glove or candle box from Hidelopen, Friesland, Netherlands. This exceptional Box is painted with "Rosemaling"/"Tole" works floral designs in shades of green and yellow on a red background. The lid has a small lip and fits nicely on the box. Very little warping has occurred. There are light scratches on the lid and signs of wear but considering this box dates to the early 1920's, all of that is acceptable and does not diminish the beauty at all.
