These exquisite hand-painted vases have a matte soft green glaze background with a red, blue, green yellow and brown landscape motif. These thin pottery pieces are free of cracks or hairlines. Very tiny flakes of the cold painted rim are visible upon close inspection. The Isles of Scilly lie 28 miles from Cornwall – off the most South-Westerly point of the UK. Tresco, called England's island of flowers, is one of the five inhabited islands and has the lushest landscape; this is reflected in the painted pottery these potters create. Impressed on bottom: TRESCO, and stamped “Made in England” These pottery items are very rare to find in the US.
