Vintage Wood Duck Decoy Herter's Inc. 1893

Offered for your consideration is this great old carved wood duck decoy. I found him sitting on the fireplace at an estate sale in Norman, Oklahoma, and just couldn't leave him behind. I will tall you that I don't know anything about decoys so I will tell you what I see. It measures 14 3/8" long by 5 5/8" wide and 6" tall. The color is black with dark brown head and brown black and white feathers. It has orange glass eyes, the bottom is marked Herter's inc. 1893 ( I don't know if that was when it was made or not) It has a split running down the middle of the bottom I will assume it is from sitting by the fireplace for years. I see some glue around the neck , Head was carved separate and applied. I find no other damage. A great addition to your collection.
