This coin silver item is an original beaker or julep cup (in contrast to a mug with the handle removed), that stands 3 1/4" high, has a top opening of 3", tapers to a a base diameter of 2 1/2", and weighs 3.2 T. oz.

It has a rim bottom and top and is otherwise plain except for two inscriptions.

One of these, "Castlelow 1854," relates to the maker's marks on the underside, which reads, "E. & D. Kinsey," "Prem. B...

An effective implement "holding a registered dram resting level on the table," (The Pharmaceutical Era volume 27 - google) this spoon was marketed to druggists and apparently was a well-received, utilitarian, item.

Solid silver, it measures 4 1/2" overall, weighs .9 T. oz., and has an elongated bowl with a narrowed and splayed mouth, which is finished in a soft satin gold wash.

It is fully identified for the manufacturer, J.B. & S.M...
