Larger than a shot measure and smaller than a julep cup, but similar in design to each of these forms, this small beaker was made by Gorham. It stands 2 5/8" high, has top and bottom diameters of 2 1/4" and 1 3/4" respectively, and weighs just under 1.7 T. oz. In addition to the Gorham hallmark and the word Sterling it is stamped with the date symbol for 1911 and the number 4081 in a rectangle followed by the letter A. The exact use for mote spoons seems indeterminate based on the speculative commentary that is available about them online and in print. The form, however, is always consistent. The are long and thin with a spoon on one end a pointed tip on the other for piercing. For the most part, one example is not much to be distinguished from another. This sterling silver goblet stands 5 1/8" tall, has a top diameter of 2 7/8", a base of 2 1/2", and weighs 4.0 T. oz. It was made by Gorham as indicated by the lion, anchor, G stamp on the underside. Other marks are the number 17, Sterling, and "B," which is a date letter for 1869. It has anthemion and leaf engraving along the lower side of the rimmed lip, and a tiered pedestal foot.
