Standing 5" tall and 4" maximum diameter, this syrup jug is an especially fine item produced by Gorham, whose "lion, anchor, G" emblem, the word "Sterling," model number "119," and a year symbol that is difficult to discern, are all imprinted on the lower edge of the fitted all silver top.

Dating circa 1900, the body is panel cut with a ground base, high quality, glass.

The fitted top has a wide collar, with a broad spout, hinged lid, and a solid, cast thumb grip...

This jar has a glass base that stands 2 3/8" high to the rim and measures 1 3/4" across on the bottom. The tapered body leads to a 2" diameter lip that is fitted with a silver top stamped "S. Kirk & Son" (used 1932-61), "Sterling," and "17F."

The glass is etched in a grape and vine design indicating this is intended for jam or jelly, although it is of a size that would function as well for mustard.

The just over .6 T. oz. lid is a "Repousse" design with a solid floral finial...
