This 4 1/8" long, very heavy, sterling silver master salt (or possibly mustard) spoon bears marks for London, 1829, and a maker's stamp for Charles Fox. Miller's guide by John Bly states Fox was "regarded as one of the last craftsmen silversmiths before the mechanization of the mid-19th century." This completely authentic, original circa 1870, sterling silver 4 5/8" long nut pick was made by Gorham. It is a superb example of this form. The squirrel is cast and is portrayed sitting atop ivy leaves. He is nibbling on a nut held in his two front paws. The ivy leaf motif repeats at the end of the twig form stem. This solid sterling silver berry spoon was made by Gorham circa 1900, and retailed by Nashville, Tennessee's Stief Jewelry Co. It is an example of Gorham's elaborate "H" series, this one numbered H389. This is large, 9 1/2" long, and exceptionally heavy, at just short of 6 T. oz. This 5 3/4" long, and weighty, coin silver sauce or cream ladle, is a mid 1860's piece produced by Gorham. The pattern is Olive, which in Gorham's case, is a variant from the standard design. This is a quality piece, with minimal polishing wear, no dings or dents, and a fine finish. There are surface flecks in the interior of the bowl. Marks are lion, anchor, G and Gorham & Co.

These coin silver serving tongs possess several distinguishing features. The first aspect about them that stands out is their size. They measure 9 1/4" long and weigh 4.7 T. oz. Their construction is also intriguing. They are clearly devised from a full sized dinner fork and tablespoon joined with a substantial arch. This 8 3/4" long, heavy, sterling serving spoon is an old, original example of Towle's Old Colonial. In addition to the Towle emblem, Sterling, 925 1000, it is stamped Patent 1895. It is the same piece as the pea server, save it is not pierced. The bowl is 3 1/4" by 2 7/8" and has the faceted base and rippled flanged shoulders characteristic of this pattern.
